The Safety Forum was formed in 2002 and has developed into a UK-wide and international body of road safety experts drawn from a diverse range of backgrounds including academia, emergency services, local authorities and private consultancies. With experts based in locations throughout the UK, Ireland and overseas we can provide road safety expertise quickly and with the value that can be best delivered by local knowledge.
Our forum of experts provides the most experienced know-how backed by the credentials required by Highways England, Transport for London, Welsh Government, Transport Scotland and the UK and Ireland’s Local Highway Authorities. The Safety Forum’s personnel meet the requirements of GG 119 and include Members and Fellows of SoRSA (Society of Road Safety Auditors).
The Safety Forum’s experience in road safety focuses on road safety audit, collision investigation and prevention studies, Walking Cycling Horse Riding Assessment, as well as traffic management and traffic calming studies. Through these disciplines The Safety Forum has experience of delivering successful road safety solutions for all road users on all classes of highways.
Our Road Safety Engineers have a proven track record in delivery of successful road safety engineering projects, including collision investigation studies; collision remedial schemes; risk assessments; road safety assessment; and road restraint risk assessment process (RRRAP).

GG 142 Walking, Cycling and Horse-Riding Assessment and Review (WCHAR) is the process for assessing non-motorised modes for highway schemes on motorways and all-purpose trunk roads. The Safety Forum have considerable experience in providing WCHAR for public and private sector clients on both large major and minor road schemes.

From our offices in Bristol and Surrey The Safety Forum operate UK wide. We have a network of over 30 Auditors located all over the UK and are able to use locally based auditors on all projects. This ensures that we remain cost effective, by reducing travel time, and our audit teams are familiar with local highway authorities.
The Safety Forum also has considerable experience of working in the Middle East (and hold credentials required by Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain) and can provide road safety consultancy services in the region, including road safety audit and collision investigation and prevention studies.
